The Heart's Mission Creative Therapy
Counselling Therapy

Holistic Counselling Therapy
Holistic Integrative Counselling Therapy is an invitation to explore the whole of you: mind, body, heart, imagination, spirit, relationships, and lived experience.
Drawing from Human-Centered Therapy, Gestalt techniques, Jungian approaches to dreams and inner mythologies, Indigenous ways of knowing, somatic and polyvagal perspectives, our work is grounded in the belief that you carry powerful innate capacities for healing, insight, and transformation. Other therapies include dreamwork, art therapy and creativity, and embodied exploration can open doors to forms of knowing that are not always accessible through words alone.
By strengthening imagination, inner guidance, and the ability to listen deeply to your own experience, we create space for symbolic and archetypal material to emerge and illuminate what is asking for attention, integration, or change. Working with your inner guidance and cultivating relaxation and a felt sense of centeredness can become the beginning of a meaningful inner journey.
The intention is not simply to resolve what is difficult, but to help you build a richer relationship with yourself and your life. Together, we cultivate inner joy, resilience, self-trust, and a greater capacity to meet change with curiosity and presence, creating the possibility for lasting transformation and a life that feels more deeply connected, creative, meaningful, and your own.

Embodied Somatic Therapy
Embodied Somatic Therapy invites you to listen to the wisdom of your body and explore the emotions, experiences, and patterns held within it. Rather than working only through thoughts and words, we bring gentle awareness to sensations, emotions, breath, movement, tension, impulses, and the subtle signals of the nervous system. By noticing where emotions and protective patterns may be held in the body, we begin to create the conditions for these patterns to soften and gradually unwind.
Our bodies can hold responses to experiences long after the conscious mind has moved on. Through slow, compassionate, embodied attention, we learn to notice what is happening without forcing, analyzing, or overwhelming the system. The process of gently unwinding these patterns can support the nervous system in developing greater capacity for self-regulation, allowing emotions to move through rather than remain continually activated, suppressed, or disconnected from awareness.
Your Practitioner offers a relational, trauma-informed, and compassionate space where you can slow down and develop a deeper relationship with your own body. Together, we follow what is happening in the present moment, listening for the sensations, emotions, and impulses that offer information about your inner experience. The intention is to help you reconnect with your body's signals, strengthen self-trust and self-regulation, and create more space for ease, integration, resilience, and aliveness.

Art Therapy
Art therapy brings together the creative process and therapeutic exploration, offering another language for experiences that can be difficult to express through words alone. Through painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, writing, movement, and other forms of creative expression, art-making can open pathways into emotion, memory, imagination, and embodied experience. No artistic experience or skill is required; the focus is on the process of creating and what emerges through it.
Art therapy can support greater self-awareness, emotional expression, insight, and integration. The creative process can help us explore inner experiences, recognize patterns, work through challenges, reduce stress, and discover new perspectives or possibilities. Rather than interpreting or judging the artwork, we become curious together about the images, symbols, sensations, stories, and feelings that arise, allowing the creative process to become a meaningful part of the therapeutic relationship.
Leah’s approach to art therapy is relational, trauma-informed, somatic, and deeply curious, integrating creative expression with embodied awareness and reflective dialogue. Whether you are working with a specific life transition, exploring something that feels difficult to name, or simply wanting to know yourself more deeply, art-making can become a space for discovery, play, connection, and transformation.
